Abstract :
Inelastic collisions of the slow monokinetic electrons with the KI molecules have been investigated using the method of extended crossing beams with recording an optical signal from the intersection region. The dissociative excitation cross sections for K and K+ lines are measured at the 100 eV electron energy. It is found that for K the dependence of the dissociative excitation cross sections from the principal quantum number is described by the power law. The optical excitation functions are recorded in a range of electron energies 0 to 100 eV. Probable reaction mechanisms at the low electron energies are briefly discussed.
