Abstract
Total US health care spending reached $1.3 trillion (USD) in 2000 or 13.2% of the nationʹs gross domestic product (GDP). Health care spending is projected $2.6 trillion in 2010. When business is unprofitable, companies raise premiums faster than costs even if it means losing some market share. This also clarifies the key point. Maintaining good health on a personal level has spawned a huge industry with many business players. When consumers, governments or other players yelp about unfair play, the fingers come out wagging. The idea is to deflect the blame and preferably point the yelper towards another playerʹs direction.
