Abstract :
The properties of lead phosphate glasses incorporated with the mixed metal oxides, which may act as the simulated nuclear waste, were studied. All the glasses can be melted under 1000 °C and 20 wt.% loadings of mixed oxides were achieved. The glass transition temperature increases, while the thermal expansion coefficient and dissolution rate of the waste glasses decreases with increasing incorporated amount of the mixed oxides. The glasses incorporated with mixed oxides have high thermal stability and do not devitrify up to a higher temperature. The phosphate chain length will be shortened and the asymmetric bridging oxygen increases as increasing the incorporating amount of the mixed oxides.
