Abstract :
In this paper, uniform Mn(OH)2 nanocrystals with diameters ∼20 nm and MnCO3 with diameters ∼60 nm have been obtained through a hydrothermal reduction route. Glycerol and glycol have been used as both reducing reagents of KMnO4 and stabilizing reagents of as-obtained nanoparticles. Due to their unique d5 electrons and nanometer sizes, novel magnetic properties could be expected from Mn(OH)2 and MnCO3 nanocrystals.
