Abstract :
Electrochemical copolymerisation of aniline with 2-aminonaphthalene-4,8-disulfonic acid or 2-aminonaphthalene-6,8-disulfonic acid has been investigated, and adherent films of self-doped copolymers have been obtained on platinum electrode within a broad range of experimental conditions regarding the molar ratio of comonomers and potential cycling limits. In an acidic solution, all copolymers prepared show electrochemical redox couples similar to those of the parent polyaniline. The copolymers prepared show well expressed redox activity even in pH neutral ammonium phosphate buffer solution.
