Abstract :
Semi-organic non-linear optical (NLO) crystal zinc tris (thiourea) sulphate (ZTS) of dimension 2.5 cm × 1.9 cm × 1.5 cm was grown from its aqueous solution by slow cooling method using two different cooling rates in two temperature zones. Quality of the grown crystal is considerably good as observed from etch pit density. Specific heat of ZTS was calculated in the temperature range from 40 °C to 190 °C from DSC data. Values of specific heat exhibit higher resistance to the laser damage of ZTS crystal.
