Comparison between V8C7 and Cr3C2 as grain refiners for WC-Co

This paper reports the results of a systematic investigation into the effect of V8C7 and Cr3C2 additions on the grain size and the mechanical properties of WC-Co. The differences in these effects are explained in terms of the different solubility in cobalt of V8C7 and Cr3C2.
