Abstract
Deposit profiles of alumina–titania powder are studied as a function of some atmospheric plasma spraying parameters. Design of experiments was applied to select the prevailing parameters taking into account their roles in the plasma generation and in the powder injection. Experimental results permitted to fit the deposit profile with a unique function having the lowest number of parameters and the best correlation factor. The correlations were studied with the aid of a neural computation. This methodology permitted to relate the energetic and injection parameters to the profile curve characteristics.
