Abstract
The short carbon fiber-reinforced nickel base composite and 20CrNi alloy were prepared by the powder metallurgy method for comparison studies. High temperature simulation for mechanical properties was carried out based on the Larson–Miller equation. The experiment suggested that the Vicker’s hardness was approximately proportional to the heat treatment parameter P after the simulation, which indicated that the Larson–Miller equation is applicable for the lifespan design of C/Ni composite. The experiment also indicated that the C/Ni composite containing 5% volume fraction of carbon fiber was superior to 20CrNi alloy in high temperature mechanical performance.
