Abstract :
Hot tensile tests were performed on Ti–6.5Al–3.5Mo–1.5Zr–0.3Si alloy with an equiaxed microstructure in the temperature range of 900–980 °C with a constant strain rate of 0.001 s−1. The tests results show that the maximum elongation reaches 400% at 960 °C, for Ti–6.5Al–3.5Mo–1.5Zr–0.3Si alloy with equiaxed grains of about 9 μm. The true stress–true strain curves supplemented with microstructural investigations indicated the identification of mechanisms such as grain boundary sliding, dynamic grain growth and dynamic phase transformation. Dynamic grain growth and dynamic phase transformation led to the increases of grain size and β-phase volume fraction.
