Abstract
The present work deals with an innovative way for producing and regulating an isothermal surface in high heat flux applications. This is achieved through the use of two fundamental configurations employing variable area channels. The flow field is modeled using the generalized formulation of the momentum equation and the energy equation is modeled based on one and two equation models. A comprehensive analysis of the influence of the inclination angle in producing flow area variations and its influence in creating an isothermal surface in the presence of an imposed high heat flux is presented. An isothermal surface along the bottom wall of a variable area channel configuration subjected to a high heat flux is produced for various controlling parameters and is presented graphically. The results presented in this work constitute an innovative way of producing and regulating isothermal surfaces in the presence of an imposed high heat flux.
