  • Abstract
    A novel wideband tri-plate monopole antenna comprising three folded rectangular plates spaced by 120(degree) and connected together at the antennaʹs central axis is presented. The antenna occupies a small cross-sectional area of 10 mm in diameter and yet provides a large bandwidth of >10 GHz (about 2.7-12.9 GHz here). In addition, the antenna shows improved omnidirectional radiation patterns across the passband.
