Abstract
Nucleophilic substitution of vinylic iodide of methyl 2-(1-hydroxyalkyl)-3-iodo prop-2-enoates 8 in the presence of magnesium dialkyl cuprates generated in situ provided a stereoselective methodology for the synthesis of infrequent β-substituted Baylis–Hillman products.
