Abstract :
Oxidative deprotection of trimethylsilyl and tetrahydropyranyl ethers of benzylic alcohols to the corresponding carbonyl compounds with benzyltriphenylphosphonium chlorate in the presence of aluminum chloride in acetonitrile under reflux conditions or at room temperature is reported.
