Abstract
The cycloheptanic analogues of α-d-glucopyranose and β-d-mannopyranose have been synthesized. These two members of a new class of carbocyclic sugar mimetics are filling the gap between already existing cyclohexanic and cyclooctanic classes of sugar mimetics.
