Abstract :
The difluorinated analogues of 3-deoxy-d-arabino-heptulosonic acid (DAH) , and its enantiomer have been synthesised from d- and l-erythrose via a Reformatsky reaction which gave a mixture of diastereoiosmers in favour of the anti isomer.
