Synthesis of alkoxymethyl derivatives of resorcinarene via the Mannich reaction catalysed with iminodiacetic acid

The conditions of a simple synthesis of tetra(alkoxymethyl) derivatives of resorcinarene via the Mannich reaction catalysed with iminodiacetic acid are described. A possibility of high yield synthesis of such derivatives for the selected straight-chain alcohols is shown. A possible mechanism of this reaction is suggested.
