Cytotoxic terpenoids from Dasyscyphus niveus

Three novel tetracyclic terpenoids, of which two possess potent cytotoxic activities towards various mammalian cell lines, were isolated from extracts of the fermentation broth of the ascomycete Dasayscyphus niveus. The structures of the compounds, named dasyscyphins A–C, were determined with spectroscopic techniques.
