Abstract :
The synthesis of a fullerene–rotaxane is described. The thread is constituted by a C60 unit, which acts as a stopper, functionalized with a solubilizing side chain by 1,3 dipolar cycloaddition. The rotaxane is assembled by hydrogen bond-assisted synthesis using a fumaramide template.
