  • Abstract
    An algorithm for determining the cross-sectional dimensions of structural elements with a required static reliability indicator (no-failure probability) is presented for the initial variables (strength and load characteristics) distributed in the normal law. A formula for choosing the regulatory reliability indicator of an element depending on the degree of its importance and the consequences of a failure, is proposed.
