Abstract :
A model of the wear of high-speed instrument bearings that takes the specific features of the processes of self-organization in the wearing layers of the material into account on various scale levels of the external loading is for the first time proposed as a result of an analysis and generalization of available experimental data, as well as of a study of the wear resistance and longevity of the materials, and application of the earlier developed structure-energy theory of materials wear. It is shown that the longevity of a bearing can be estimated by testing its material on a magnetostriction vibrator. A satisfactory correlation between partial theoretical dependences and experimental data is demonstrated.
