Abstract :
A method for determining the external generalized coordinates of the thin lubricating layer of gasostatic supports by solving the problem for the linearized nonstationary Reynolds equation numerically, is proposed. An example illustrating the comparative efficiency of the method as a means for facilitating the solution of the problem and ensuring the required accuracy, is considered. Analytic dependences for determining external generalized coordinates and evaluating the accuracy of the proposed and other methods for solving the problem, are derived.
