NUMERICAL CALCULATION OF THE STATISTICAL PARAMETERS OF THE SAFETY FACTOR

The deterministic formula for the safety factor as a function of the ultimate strength and the amplitude of the normal and tangential stresses is widely used. Assuming that the fatigue limit has the three-parameter Weibull distribution and that the amplitudes have the log/normal distribution, we find by the computer statistical modeling method the stable values of the mathematical expectation and dispersion of the safety factor. We establish their interconnection with the probability of non-failure of the structural element.
