Abstract :
A widely used suspension is considered. Acceptable kinematic characteristics of the suspension are chosen by solving the problem of multicriteria optimization. It is shown that the required results cannot be obtained within the framework of the initial formulation. The difficulties associated with the proper formulation of the problem are mainly due to the high dimensionality of the criteria and parameter vectors, the presence of conflicting criteria, and rigid constraints imposed on the functional dependences and criteria. The initial formulation of the problem is corrected by use of the method of parameter space investigation. As a result, the domain of admissible solutions is determined and the optimal variant that surpasses the prototype is found.
