Abstract :
Addition of 3,3-dichloro-1-azaallylic anions to acrylates smoothly gave cis2-chloro-2-imidoylcyclopropanecarboxylates with complete diastereoselection. The resulting cyclopropanes are reduced to 2(aminomethyl)-2-chlorocyclopropanecarboxylates or hydrolyzed to afford 2-acyl-2-chlorocyclopropylcarboxylates.
