Abstract :
New piperazinones are obtained in satisfactory yields by reaction of l,2-diaza-l,3-butadienes with 1,2-diamines under solvent-free conditions. In polar solvents, the same reagents give rise to interesting dihydropyrazines and then to pyrazines by oxidation with PTAB or Pd/C.
