Synthesis of pyrrolobenzoxazepinones by CuI/l-proline-catalyzed intramolecular coupling reactions

A copper-catalyzed process for the construction of pyrrolobenzoxazepinones from 2-(2-iodophenoxy)-1-(1H-pyrrol-2-yl)ethanones is described. The reaction afforded a variety of products in good to excellent yields.
