Abstract :
A novel approach for the synthesis of pyrimidine 1’,3’-anhydro-(beta)-D-psico- and -sorbo-furanosyl nucleosides 2 and 3, respectively, has been developed. The approach described here employs a readily available O2,3’-anhydro-(beta)-Dfructofuranosyluracil (1) as a key starting compound.
