Abstract :
A novel protocol for Brønsted acid catalyzed reaction of 2-methyl azaarenes and aromatic aldehyde to give 1,3-di(2-quinolyl)propane derivatives through tandem C(sp3)–H bond functionalization has been developed. This approach provides a new access to a variety of 1,3-di(2-quinolyl)propane derivatives, which are potentially of great importance in pharmaceuticals and ligand fields.
