Abstract :
The halogen-induced intramolecular formation of 13(alpha)- and 13(beta)-estrone nitrones, followed by 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reactions with N-phenylmaleimide (NPM) stereoselectively furnished halogen-containing condensed heterocyclic D-homosteroids.
