Abstract :
A deterministic formula for the equivalent stresses in a shaft working in bending-torsion is used. The torque and the bending moment in two planes are assumed to be distributed in the lognormal law, and the shaft diameter in the normal law. The Monte Carlo method is employed for finding stable values of the mathematical expectation and dispersion of the equivalent stresses which stabilize for a simulated sample size of 10^5 values.
