Abstract
The elastic vibration of a pipeline and the stressed-strained state due to water hammer are considered. The shock-wave parameters are calculated on the basis of the linearized Navier-Stokes equations which are integrated numerically using the method of characteristics and the two-layer difference scheme. The stressed-strained state (SSS) is calculated by the finite element method and the Newmark difference D-method. The design stressed-strained state is presented by superposing "fast" rod/beam and "slow" shell shapes of motion. The approach is justified. The effect of the water-hammer velocity on the amplitude values of the SSS parameters is analyzed. Dynamic correction factors are calculated.
