Abstract :
The elastic state of heterogeneous materials is described within the framework of the mechanics of heterogeneous continua. The condition of local failure of a two-phase material with the wearing volume affected by the critical-density energy flow is formulated. The dependences of the hydroabrasive and cavitation wear of steels on the mean-statistical spacing of inclusions of the hardening phase and the amount of deformation martensite in steels with ferritic.cementitic and austenitic structures are established. The dependence of the wear resistance criterion on the stresses of the second kind, the dislocations density, and the primary austenite grain diameter is presented in the form of the critical deformation power density for the wear of stainless steels surfaced with a wire using a modulated current under a layer of flux.
