Abstract :
Monodispersed W/O emulsions were prepared by an integrated ceramic membrane emulsification system. Kerosene was used as the continuous phase and water was used as the dispersed phase. By adding a cationic surfactant into the dispersed phase, the hydrophilic ceramic membrane can be directly used as the emulsification medium for the preparation of monodispersed W/O emulsions. Monodispersed W/O emulsion with a droplet size of 1–2 µm was obtained by use of a ZrO2 ceramic membrane with a nominal pore size of 0.16 µm under a pressure of 0.1 MPa and a stirring speed of 490 rpm.The flux of the dispersed phase was 140.6 L·m–2·h–1 and the energy density was 5.63×105J·m–3.
