Abstract :
Stereoselective (beta)-elimination of 2-bromo-3-hydroxyesters is achieved by using non-preactivated manganese and tri methylsilyl chloride, to yield (E)-(alpha),(beta)-unsaturated esters with total diastereoselectivity.
