NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF THE INFLUENCE OF CORROSION DEFECTS ON THE STRENGTH OF PIPELINES

The influence of outer mechanochemical defects on the strength of pipelines loaded with internal pressure is considered. The domain and nature of the influence of the defects are analyzed depending on the lattersʹ orientation and sectional shape. The finite element method is employed. Theoretical concentration factors are calculated for various types of defects.
