Abstract :
A method for determining the slope of the fatigue curve left-hand branch from the data on the surface damage in the presence of various technological and performance factors is developed. The systems analysis of the method made it possible to improve the computation procedure predicting the fatigue resistance parameters to greater accuracy. The main practical results achieved in adapting the prediction method for a group of medium-strength steels used in manufacturing automobile parts are formulated.
