Optimisation of turbulence wire spacing in falling films performed with OpenFOAM

Turbulence wires are horizontal wires disturbing the flow of falling films thus enhancing the heat transfer. By means of OpenFOAM the optimal wire spacing is found to be between 15 and 20 in units of the wire radius. For this investigation the Volume of Fluid application interFoam has been supplemented by the energy equation.
