Abstract :
The friction and wear characteristics of a self-organizing tribotechnical system are dynamic functions of environmental conditions and the current state of the system under analysis. The parameters used in engineering applications for determining the conditions and measured results of processes, are considered. The heat generation and transfer due to friction determined by the dynamic coefficient of the heat flux distribution, the relation between the mechanical component of the friction coefficient and the characteristics of the fractal model of the rubbing surface roughness, the effect of the friction force and the materialʹs properties on the wear rate, and the wear process heredity, i.e. a dependence on the prehistory, are studies using mathematical models. All the models include common characteristics, and their simultaneous analysis corresponds to the principals of the systems approach and self-organization of the friction surface structure.
