Abstract :
Fullerene relaxation occurs under impulsive deformations: pressure, tension, shear and shear +pressure combinations are considered in this work. The empiric pair Lennard-Jones potential was used as the intermolecular interaction potential. The deformation range, where the crystal behaves elastically, was investigated. The wave generation and loss of crystal stability characters is dependent on stress type allowing the level to be deduced. As a result of this research, four main phases of crystal relaxation were discovered: (1) stable phase—homogeneous stable deformed crystal; (2) waves of static fullerene chains generating displacement; (3) dislocation generation. It was shown that there are several main relaxation types inside the frame of Hookeʹs law dependent stress type and its level.
