Abstract :
Two types of dynamical reconnection processes were investigated with two different spatial scale models; global and local scale. The global scale study invokes the anomalous resistivity reconnection process with spherical geometry and the local scale study invokes the tearing instability reconnection process with Cartesian geometry. Both cases are based on self-consistent, two-dimensional planar magnetohydrodynamics (MHD). The small scale study consists of the evolution of a multi-polarity complex region in a Cartesian coordinate system. The results show the formation of Hα surge and possible X-ray emission due to reconnection caused by plasma in-flow at the boundary. The global scale study describes a streamer and a flux-rope in a spherical coordinate system, and shows the formation of a tongue-shaped plasmoid due to field reconnection between the streamer and flux-rope.
