Abstract
The low-speed solar wind plasma with Alfvénic fluctuations included is analysed. We discuss the influence of noise in the data and check the consistency of filtering procedure. We demonstrate that the noise can be much more efficiently reduced by the nonlinear filter than with the conventional (linear) filters, which allows a more realistic calculation of the solar wind entropy. We have verified the robustness of the results against change in parameters, supporting evidence that the Kolmogorov entropy is positive and finite, as it should be for a chaotic system.
