Dynamics and relaxation of an artificial electron beam Original Research Article

We present results of analytical and numerical investigation of the motion of electron beam injected into the ionosphere from spacecraft. We show that the development of beam driven instability results the formation of a virtual cathode, where the ambient plasma is turbulently heated and the beam is relaxed on longitudinal velocities.
