On the creation of electric fields around the moon - applications to remote sensing of electric conductivities Original Research Article

The basic mechanism for generating an electric field on the nightside of the Moon is discussed and how such a potential influences the distribution of plasma in the vicinity of the Moon. Predictions for various observable quantities are presented and the relevance of potential measurements close to the Moon is demonstrated as a tool for remote sensing of the lunar crust.
