Tides in the middle and upper atmospheres of Mars and Venus Original Research Article

Current knowledge of solar tides in the middle and upper atmospheres of Mars and Venus is summarized, including Sun-synchronous tides on both planets; nonmigrating tides on Mars due to radiative/topographic interactions near the surface; and acceleration/deceleration of the zonal mean flows on Mars and Venus due to tidal interactions.
