Abstract
Nowadays more than 50 years of cosmic ray records are available to describe short-, medium-, and long-term variations of the near-Earth space environment. We present a short overview of some tools for Space Weather issues, derived from middle/low latitude cosmic ray measurements in the past. We discuss statistical and case studies performed to understand the observed relationship between the cosmic ray variability and the enhanced geomagnetic activity levels.
