Mathematical modelling in plasmastatics Original Research Article

This paper presents some results of the numerical analysis of a new type magnetic trap “Stellarator-Galatheya”. It is shown that plunging current carrying wires in the plasma volume, we make equilibrium magnetoplasma configurations more stable and improve confinement parameters. Special attention is attracted to general aspects of the Grad–Shafranov plasmastatic model: nonunique and unstable solutions appear according to spectral analysis of the linearized differential equation operator.
