A mathematical and computer model of the main tropical hurricane wave system Original Research Article

One of the possible reasons of the formation the main tropical hurricane wave system is a low-pressure area revolving. The exact solution of the ocean surface is obtained. It is shown that in the wave zone the wave picture may be approximated by the m-fold rotating spirals. The influence of the distribution of pressure and the form of the low-pressure area are under investigation. A number of the ocean surface pictures are simulated by Maple-V. The special c-program for the recognition of the main wave systems against the background of wind waves is developed. The essential information about the characteristics of a tropical hurricane may be estimated by the model.
