Abstract :
A new approach to EXAFS data analysis is offered, based on optimal extraction and stochastic approximation of the EXAFS signal fraction due to a restricted number of atoms. The technique enables analyzing a given group of atoms if a priori information about the rest of atoms is either incomplete or absent. The method is shown to be workable on image compounds.
