Abstract
The present paper aims at predicting children sprint via standing long jump. In doing so, a sample of 22 girl students aged 10, 19 eleven year old and 16 twelve year old children was selected using cluster sampling. Then, 45 m sprint and 60 m shuttle sprints tests as well as standing long jump were implemented among the subjects. Pearson’s correlation coefficient showed that in all age groups there was a reverse correlation between the scores of 45 m sprint and standing long jump as well as between the scores of standing long jump and 60 m shuttle sprint at level 0.05. On the other hand, a positive, significant correlation existed between 45 m sprint and 60 m shuttle sprint at level 0.05. the findings of regression analysis, additionally, indicated standing long jump is linearly correlated with 45 m sprint and 60 m shuttle sprint, therefore, can predict sprint; in addition, 45 m sprint is linearly correlated with 60m shuttle sprint at level 0.05 and so is capable of predicting it.
